THE END OF ‘WESTERN DEMOCRACY’ AS WE KNOW IT?
AN OPPORTUNITY FOR AFRICA TO SHOW A NEW PATH.

In light of Brexit and the impact of the US election reverberating across the globe, coupled with a surge in populism and crude nationalism in Europe and Eurasia – how can Africa steer a new, equitable and vibrant democratic course for the future of the continent?

Democracy Works Associate Thandiwe Matthews moderates a conversation with Executive Chairperson William Gumede (South Africa), Prof John Tesha – Executive Secretary, Forum for Former African Heads of State and Government (Tanzania) and Jules Hoareau – Chairperson of SADC- Council for Non-Governmental Organisations (Seychelles).

The debate shall be followed by a finger food reception.
Seats are limited. Please RSVP by latest 12h00, 28 November to info@democracyworks.org.za

In partnership with FES South Africa and Liliesleaf.
